An early German copy of the JP novel had the title translated to "Dino Park" -- in subsequent versions, however, the English "Jurassic Park" was used. (From: jphp)

They did figure it out. The herbivores ate lyscine enriched palnts, and the meatasaurs ate them.

In the Jurassic Park book...the dinosaurs should have died after so many hours with out lysine...Maybe Grant is going back because he thinks the dinosaurs are dead...Remember in the Lost World movie Hammond said that was one of the questions he wanted the team to figure out "But by God they are flourshing"

EVERYONE!!!! Go to www.darkhorizons.com and read the JP3 blurb. This in particular makes me so completely happy!! They state that a sight seer in Hawaii checks out some of the sets being constructed and sees a huge metallic dome with a mesh of steel and glass. Could this be the Aviary in the JP book? Johnston said there would be flying dinos in JP3... They also go on to state that the original Visitor's Center has a new paint job that makes it look old. This sounds totally awesome. Can't wait till JP3!!!

I'd go, but only if they were loose. Contrariwise, Grant would be more against that idea. At least without protection, like the vehicles in TLW Book. He'd also not get too close, rememebring what it's like. Probably invent some dinoc age like the sjark cages. Hmm, the Arby motorcycle chase can it in thsi way.

You know, I was thinking. One of the major problems I had with TLW was that none of the animals really hunted. They just attacked. The Raptors never hunted them, the madly ripped everything and everything apart including themselves. I think as long as JP3 doesn't do that it will be okay.

baryonyxy that is a pretty good idea, but if that was the plot i think they would just go back to check island to makesure there are dinos left but the pteranodons attacking them would rock, then they would crash land. But i thought they are gonna be on both of the islands on different parts?

At 6:19:32 PM on 8/6/2000, Baryonyx said:
YES. I woud DEFENETLY GO. And if I died.......not too many people on this planet have the chance to be eaten alive by a real dinosaur. I mean it woud suk, of cors, but in a way it woud be an honarable deth! Also I didn't say that Dr. Grant was a gennero who woud piss himself if he saw another raptor. I am just saying he woud not want to take too mutch of a risk......after all if he did die, he woud not get to see another T-rex again.........exept for inside it's belly haha!

At 6:00:38 PM on 8/6/2000, Oviraptor said:
yes , yes and yes.. I would go.

Okay, here's a question for everyone. If Jurassic Park was real, would you go on an prepared and organized expedition to the island, knowing the danger involved, but also knowing it would be your only chance to see and study live dinosaurs? I can tell you right away my answer would be yes, it's been my dream since I was two, and I would be more than willing to risk it.

At 1:49:55 PM on 8/6/2000, Pol said:
I'm going to have to disagree with you, Mess and Baryonyx. Grant is a paleontologist, he has dedicated his life to the study of prehistoric life, even though it means lack of a decent paycheck and spending every available minute chipping away at rock in the Gobi desert. Now the answers to nearly all of the questions he's been agonizing over is right there on this island, and you think a little danger is going to phase him? We're not talking about Grant lowering himself into a raptor nest with a note pad, he's going to take precautions this time. Trust me, I've personally known a number of field scientists like Grant, vulcanologists, marine biologists, etc, and trust me, they are driven by pure obsession that consumes any fear. Do you think someone who studies tiger behavior would swear off tigers after a brush with a test subject? Not likely. Alan Grant is clearly not the type that's too afraid to step out his museum lab, and if there are still dinosaurs out there, he'll return..... man, I do have a tendency to ramble on, don't I?

At 1:38:47 PM on 8/6/2000, Baryonyx said:
Also I found out what the plot might be! Ok hear is one idea.

Hammond findes out there are some dios living on isla nubler. so he decids this will make a big attraction. So he calls Grant to tour in the hellicopters.

So he gets there with some people and there all flying around nicly.... until they are attaced by Pterodons. Some of the things get chopped up by the rotter blads whil attacing. But sadly they get to the guys in the font and kill the piolets. Not far from the ground the hellicopter crashes lighly into the logosaurs territory And thats where the adventure begins.

At 1:26:27 PM on 8/6/2000, Baryonyx said:
No I don't think thats what he was thinking, he was proboly releaved. I mean if it wernt for the rex, thoes two raptors woud have had there way with him! No. Grant will probobly NOT want to go.

At 8:52:56 PM on 8/5/2000, Mess said:
I mean did you think when he was on the helocopter ride back he was thinking, "That was nice think I'll go back their some time."

At 8:49:38 PM on 8/5/2000, Mess said:
O.K, I don't know why you guys think you know grant because he is a movie charater but he is human, he is not got to want to rush back to a island where he was all most eatin on!

I was reading Natinal Geographic today and found somthing cool to say birds wer close to the raptor family. Hear is the artical.

A gracefully leathal claw on the second toe of a raven size bird fossil is the wepon for a predator. Catherine Forster, my colleague at SUNY Stony Brook named the animal RAHONAVIS, combining Latin and Malagasy words to connote a menacing bird from the clouds. RAHONAVIS lived about 70 millon years ago.

The skeletal structure of the foot and claw is strikingly similar to that of the preditory dinosaur VELOCIRAPTOR, providing new evedence of the dinosaurian origin of birds.

Well I thought you guys might like to know. Didn't know what els to say, so ther you go.

Well The buildings are getting painted to look old. go to www.ingennet.com . Also, there building what is possibly the aviary that was unseen in the first JP Movie. So its most likely Site C(Isla Nublar)

At 3:39:42 AM on 8/5/2000, Utahraptor said:
Ovirpator, I don't wnat it on Nublar because it'd either mark TLW's points non existent, or a prequel.
But rused building doe snot mean Nublar. Why not a Site C, which is old and run down after all these years? But a Site C just doesn't fit in,a nd Is till doubt JP was Site C. I thinkt he toy line got it wrong.
GRant would be mroe wiling to go for a real reason. he refused to endorse the park, so it's not ike Ring Ring. G:Hello H:Grant, guess what. A thrid island was found with dinos. Wanna go paly?" G:YeeHA!" It'd probably be sent to study them. Perhaps Grant's on a long range scannign fot he dinos, using remote control vehicles with cmaeras ont hem (with Lex workign them),a dn they egt stranded. Along on the observation is MIles and the gang, sicne Paul Roby is Grant's friend. A simpl viewing of live dinos, but they get shipwrecked. Or maybe Grant's taking them on a baot to soem palce toview the latest fossil finds to omapre to the real deal, and when passing by, The weatehr started gettign rough, the tiny ship was tossed." UNless Neill isn't getting paid 15 MIll,a nd is in a cameo. And the original plot idea is still suppsoed o eb there, noody's on the island, so soemhow gRant figure sin,a nd I tink those sides wer ethe key. Perhaps to amke up his leaving, Paul has Grant come along with a graduate student of hsi, and they go to view the dinos or such, and get shipwrecked. Soemhwo the rescue idea is too TLW. I mena, really, that'd be exactly TLW the remake. Peopel starnde don the island, returnee goes tor escue them.
Now,a s for the new dino, perhaps the rescue is set for Isla Nubalr, whr ether eare no dinos. After surviving the dino attacks, thye baord a raft, alnd on Nublar, and meet the underwater dino (or whatever version it is. Underwater dino, amphibious, etc.) And Grant seriosuly misses the T-rex and Raptors.

At 3:02:02 AM on 8/5/2000, Baryonyx said:
Hmmm... Well lets see. Grant in the book Jurassic Park along with Sattler were not very nevos when they had to go into the raptor den, so he might want to go to get a count of the dinos like in the book. But you can never tell maby he does have to rescue someone. I hope not though it woud not be orriginl.

At 1:32:35 AM on 8/5/2000, Oviraptor said:
I didn't say Grant was stupid.. all I meant is he isn't gonna be like Malcolm was in TLW.. not wanting to go what so ever until he finds out about Sarah.. Grant would go without having to go and rescue someone ... grant would go because he'd want to go.. not cause he had to. No One is gonna have to give Grant a reason to go.

I don't know if Grant who be like "HELL YEAH, WHERE'S THE PLANE" Let's face it, Grant isn't a stupid man. He would't do anything stupid. I think he might go to the island, maybe to biologically document the Dinosaurs. But he wouldn't just rush inot it. He would probably be more inclined to make sure that he wouldn't be in any danger. Cause let's face it, Grant isn't stupid.

According to the Movie. The Isla Nublar Species List is:

    Tyrannosaurus Rex
    Velociraptor
    Dilophosaurus
    Baryonyx
    Herrerasaurus
    Brachiosaurus
    Triceratops
    Parasaruolophus
    Gallimimus
    Metriacanthosaurus
    Segisaurus
    Proceratosaurus
    Stegosaurus
    Compsognathus(?)
    Pterosaur

However these are the original 15, and since Ingen was still organzing Nublar, So Im sure there were more on the island like Spinosaurus and stuff.

I'm not saying this is a prequle. I am tolltoly agenst it. I don't want it to be. So if you are going to say that I think it's a prequle because of what I am about to say, you are insane. If this is on Nubler(wich I hope it is) Where does the spino(logo dino)come into the roll. We never saw it in the movie. Plus I hope there are in the movie, reaports of strange lizards biting inface, like in the book!

Yeah I saw the rusty building part before so they are making them to look old and it wouldn't be hard to get Grant to go to the island he'd be like " HELL YEAH WHERE'S THE PLANE!!!??? "

Well if any of you bothered to visit Ingennet and read the original article there. It says one of the new buildings being constructed there looks OLD and RUSTY witch is the biggest hint.

But that's only if they're being restored. If not, it's a moot point.

I don't think it would be to difficult to get Grant into the story. He's a paleontologist, dinosaurs are his life. Unlike Malcolm he would WANT to return to the island, regardless of certain risks. I think the real question here is, are they repainting the buildings to look new again, or are they repainting to age them. If they are, in fact, restoring the sets, then I'm afraid we may have to invoke the question of the "p" word again.... PREQUEL!

At 2:36:40 PM on 8/4/2000, Ethan Hunt said:
About the repainting. They are probably trying to make the buildings look a lot older and run down. Since no one has been to the island in a long time. But I am trying to figure out how to get Grant to Isla Nublar. That would be hard to work into the story.

they could be repainting the buildings to look old and it could be Isla Nublar? that can be done...

Are we sure thus means Isla Nublar is being used. Repaint might be a key clue here. Same buildings, different look/island.
