I have read the book, Somalia revolted against America and it caused a sort of civil war where a heap of Somali's (all supporting America) were skinned alive, gutted and dumped outside a military base.
Also i cant recall how Farah Aidid was killed but i do remember the general retired the same day Somalia was returned to normal.

6. Saddam is not elected, he rose to power and is a dictator. His people can't truly choose if they want him or not.
7. All the US wants to do is remove the Iraqi Regime, not hurt the Iraqi people themselves, kind of like the plan we have done in Afganistan. Remove the Taliban, but help the people.
8. Iraq has ignored 17 UN resolutions ordering them to allow weapons inspectors back into the nation, which can only mean that Saddam is building the very weapons that he promised to destroy at the end of the Gulf War.

I think AMERICAN CANDIDATE is the best idea to come out of the people who make tv shows in a long loooong time. I have no doubt a regular joe could do a better job as president than 99.5% of the politicans in Washington. It's been proven that any boob can run the country (GW Bush), so why not give people a chance that would normally not have the means to run(a huge amount of money, for one)? It's the ultimate example of democracy, and I think it's great.
Of course, it'll never happen, the two party system will see it as too big of a threat and pull some strings to get it off the air.
As for a war with Iraq, yeah, it's a pretty dumb idea at this point, and I think Georgie is getting the picture that the american people won't accept it. But, if Saddam doesn't cooperate with inspections, we'll have no choice but to go in kicking ass, to protect the rest of the world (including Australia) from his chemical and biological weapons.

Example: Lord of the Rings: some people were complaing that in one scene Frodo is crying out one eye yet in the next shot he's crying out his other eye. Do what i do and simply fill the gap between scene with you own theories, example the tear dropped tothe ground and then one came out his other eye. It is an assumption that saves a movie.
