One of the reasons for the failure of a planned JP cartoon was that the creators reportedly only offered Jeff Goldblum $100 for his likeness. Obviously, the actor refused. (From: jurassiraptor)

The new Zelda will suck. I hate Zeldas new look. I will buy Clone Wars and Bounty Hunter on my Playstation 2. As well as Star Wars Galaxies and Knights of the Old Republic on the Xbox. Most of the good games are coming to Playstation 2 and some good ones are coming to Xbox.

There are very few good games coming to cube. Most of the good games are coming to Playstation 2 and some are coming to Xbox. The new Zelda looks terrible. The Nintendo 64 version had better graphics. Gamecube has mostly little kids games not to mention lack of DVD playback and inferior graphic power then the Xbox.

The P.C. version of the game will be the best anyway pj. I have a Cube too, but it has so many great games coming out that I don't really care all that much if this game isn't going to it.

Island attack is pretty fun actually.

Park Builder was great for a game boy sim. I was excited for this game since I heard about it here.

And this new game is like a Park Builder game for a console. But of course it has no relation to Park Builder other than the Jurassic Park liscense.

Ill be getting it for PC. Because i have a cube, and it's being neglected.

BUt there's 7 games that im looking forward to on cube anyhow.

Game looks wicked, but why are they using the rubbish new logo with spino? Bring back the original logo, seeing as this game is pretty much based around setting up Jurassic Park.

Actually I always loved the Genesis version. Of course I was only 7 but I thought it was tre kewl. My fav level was always the rafting level. I didnt think that Rampage was bad either (except that there was only lik 3 levels). But I thought it was kewl having grant ride on a trike or galli. And the rafting away from the Rex was pretty cool. The Aztec level was always my fav but whatever you say. Apparently if you say it was ho-hum I have to agree!

    Wow, Dan's on fire!

I thought JP for Genesis was terrific - one of the better games I owned for that system. And the T-Rex controlled levels of TLW (PS/Saturn) were cool, but that was about it for THAT game.

    Yes, I owned a Saturn. :

JP for the SNES was ok I wish they made it 100% first person.

At 12:18:48 AM on 6/7/2002, _jurassiraptor_ said:
The JP game for the SNES was actually quite cool with its Doom-like feel; it really utilized the maximum capacities of the 16-bit system, and the digitized photos and voices from the people in the movie were a nice touch. The makers of that game really did their homework as far as staying true not only to the movie, but also to Crichton's novel as well.
"The Chaos Continues" was cool in its own right for being ahead of its time; the plot about the scientists and soldiers on the island to re-capture dinosaurs is similar to The Lost World movie, which wasn't written until 3 years later. Good gameplay and cool missions were also a plus.

Well, I'm not gonna sit here and review every JP game. I'm sure Dan would love me clogging up the comments section with that.

I agree with Dan on the latest JP3 games (Danger Zone, Dino Defender); they were too childish. But the GameBoy games are cool. Am I the only person who absolutely loved DNA Factor?
Definitely looking forward to Project Genesis! :)

Oh, has anyone played the Dinosaur Digs expansion pack for Zoo Tycoon? I've heard nothing about it, but it would make a good comparison to Project Genesis and JP Park Builder.

The JP curse just says that most, if not all JP games are medicore or just down right sucky.

It goes as far back as Ocean's 1993 JP game, which was an odd Doom-clone (and sucked). Then we had the three Genesis games (JP, "Rampage", and TLW), which were all ok but ultimately ho-hum, then the top-down JP SNES, NES, and Game Boy games that all sucked (they were all pretty much the same half-baked game).

Then there's been several PC products, like the "JP Desktop" which was a complete waste of money, and "Chaos Island", which I never really played but apparently has some fans. But let's not even get started on the three recent PC games by Knowledge Adventure, "ScanCommand", "Dino Defender", and "Danger Zone", which were perhaps the epitome of the JP Curse.

Then there was the 3 recent Game Boy Advance games, "Park Builder", "DNA Factor", and "Island Attack". "Park Builder" was ok, but ultimately repetitive and frustrating, "DNA Factor" was horribly, horribly bad, and I never played "Island Attack" (Word on the street was that it sucked).

Of course, I haven't mentioned "Trespasser", (IMHO) one of the most-hyped, most-delayed, most over-produced pieces of dino-dung the PC gaming world has ever seen.

There were two JP games I'd classify as "pretty good", the Playstation TLW game (Which I never played much of so therefore can't really judge), and the TLW Sega Arcade game, which is still awesome (unlike the JP3 arcade game, which is shitty)
