A bit random, but incase anyone doesn't know, they've announced Indiana Jones 4! And, of course, Harrison Ford is in it, and Spielberg will direct! They haven't released the name of it yet, but that's OK. Plus, it's snowing!!!

What I am talking about here is the fact that during filming, various scripts were used. This can be seen on several webpages, including Bob's Hawaii Movie Tour page. Trust me, to just save a lot of wasted typing, I followed the progress of JP3 from the day it was announced on June 30, 1998 to the day it was released.

The question I ask is, were scenes shot of these different scripts (one concerned extinction on the island, as in the LW book) and had to be cut from it to follow the chosen storyline? I think its certainly a possibility. Whether any Ultimate Edition DVD will ever be released and contain such footage remains to be seen.

well, there were no deleted scenes. maybe they could have been "extended" though. but the guy at jp aftermath.com was complaining about there not being deleted scenes. there were no scenes shot that were deleted. I dont' think they had time or knew what they were doing to make enough footage to delete things. after all, they were just going with what they had, which was nothing. but, i would love to see a featurette on the dvd with joe johnston talking about the story lines and scenes that were thrown out.

Its not EXACTLY true there are no deleted scenes. Depending on your definition of a deleted scene. I mean, the film went through revision after revision, so there are bound to be scenes that had to be cut in order to make the film make any sense. There's at least one thing we can confirm was cut, and its only one shot, and that is of the Spino hitting the Rex with his claw. Theres a good bet the Rex/ Spino fight had a few cuts. Also, it seems fairly obvious that an alternate ending exists. I had read the JP3 books and was ready for Ellie to have her little phone call with Grant in the end, but it doesn't end that way- I think they shot it but cut it out, and inserted the "Dr. Grant could you please sit down line" instead.

Such a pity, I'm a big fan of deleted scenes.

There was nothing. I have DirectTV, and there was no Bonus Footage, just the 4 foot Dino Chart. But I did pay the price of JP3 and got two movies, the JP/JP3 Double Feature. Probably the only reason I got JP3, was because JP came with it :)

When a movie is two hours long though, even if its Jurassic Park, you will get bored by the people talking.

There are no deleted scenes, if there were any they would have put them in the movie to make it longer than the measly 1 1/2 hour it was and make it more like its almost 2 hour long successors(JP and TLW).
