When Dennis Nedry falls down the muddly slope, listen carefully: A slide-whistle sound is played, giving his fall a subliminally cartoony quality. (From 'Dilophosaurus')

Yeah, I was going to mention that no one seems to know how to spell Dodgson on this website, but I try not to be too nit-picky, even though I tend to be anyway. It's closure, KryptDaKnight, not closrue! I hope he's in it, but I get the feeling we fans are more concerned about tying this into the first film than Joe Johnston is. It's such a waste, though, to introduce him and a rival genetics company in the first film and then not use that for further installments. There is a lot of ground they could cover with Biosyn, storywise. Just read the LW book, they wouldn't even have to do much work on the plot for this one with all the good stuff that was thrown out for the LW movie.

Jeez, can anyone spell Dodgson right? D O D G S O N. Anyways I think he should be. That could bring some closuer to Jurrasic Park. That is, if he died.

Do you think Dongson is going to be in the 3d one?

    Nothing. He wasn't in it.

And ILM will rise to the challenge and make 3 great SFX movies.

They've been saying "late July or August," but considering that Sam Neill is currently the only cast member attached to this, I'm thinking they won't begin until sometime in August. Nivola is still in talks, as is Laura Dern supposedly, but no one else is signed. Which is fine... they could easily begin in October and still have it done soon enough for the July release. However filming should commence next month in Hawaii. I'm wondering how hard JP3 will be to pull off, FX-wise. ILM is very busy. They're going to be occuppied with at least three major projects this fall, including Episode II, A.I., and JP3. Denis Muren is already working on the former two so I have doubts that he will be doing any real work for this film. In short, ILM's teams of experts as well as their huge databases will be put to their biggest challenge yet.

I forgot, but does anybody know when filming will start for JP3?

Oviraptor where did you learn how to read?!? I said THOUGHT-PROVOKING! And why would I be here if I hated JP in the first place? I've been here since February this year, how long have you? And you are entitled to your opinion that Titanic sucked, I don't think it did, I thought it was an excellent movie, and I happen not to care too much for Leo. Yes, contrary to what many dingbats seem to believe, Titanic didn't make $1.8 billion worldwide solely or mainly out of Leo fans. And how dare I call Jurassic Park a popcorn film? What the heck would you classify as a popcorn movie then, ha? When I say popcorn movie, I mean JP is among the best ever made! Nobody in their right minds ever classified JP as an "art film."

Normally I don't participate in pathetic arguments like this, but you really had that coming. We aren't here to berate each other, Oviraptor, we're here to talk JP. And act our age.

Also what was provoking in Jurassic Park???? tell me one thing? you can't cause there wasn't one thing. I think you just hate Jurassic Park don't you?

Also how dare u call JP a popcorn movie... you probably liked Titanic..LOL your favorite part was probably Lenardo DeCrapio...

Titanic sucked... and thats all there is too it.. JP was 100% better than Titanic. so JP shoulda been 3 hours long.. and TLW also and JP3 also.

At 4:17:46 PM on 7/13/2000, GoldblumRules said:
Nobody except the most die-hard JP fans would make a 3-hour Jurassic Park a hit. Titanic worked because it had really serious subject matter at it's heart. Jurassic Park is first and foremost a simple popcorn movie with some thought-provoking material in it... but certainly not enough to warrant 180 minutes of screen time.

At 3:46:19 PM on 7/13/2000, KryptDaNight said:
    Man,
I wouldn't care if it was 3 hours. Actually I would highly suggest it be 3 hours. Mybe we could get a good movie that way. Not that JP was bad, but it cold have been better if it was 3 hours. TLW, jeez, I coulda wrote it better.

At 1:49:33 PM on 7/13/2000, GoldblumRules said:
Actually the running time would be closer to about 140 mins. and TLW was actually that long before they cut footage out of it.

If they made this movie like this I think they shuld of droped the Dr. juttson because he realy did not have a purpose to the story. Ohterwise that was a great script and if they made it it would be like 3 hours long but who realy minds about that

At 1:32:23 AM on 7/13/2000, Baryonyx said:
They better have somthing with Dongson in JP3

At 12:18:46 AM on 7/13/2000, GoldblumRules said:
The guy was two stops short of decomposing in TLW. But maybe Hammond could go to the island that the strandeds are on and have a noble end by sacrificing himself to the Rexes so they could escape! Riiiight.

I don't think you can kill off a great actor like Lord Richard Attenborough unless it is a noble death i.e. Alec Gunnies(sorry for the misspell) in Star Wars.

At 11:55:52 PM on 7/12/2000, VelociYoshi said:
Hmmm, TLW would have been much better this way, but that Dr. Juttsen guy seems to just be Levine from the book except he suddenly drops in. Nick was the same, but two is too much. Also, when Thorne said that in the book, I thought Malcolm should have said it. That's just my opinion.

At 10:35:57 PM on 7/12/2000, Baryonyx said:
    I dont get it.

At 3:43:07 PM on 7/12/2000, GoldblumRules said:
If you haven't read this yet, I highly recommend it. This is the movie they should have made. It's actually not too much closer to the book than the finished movie was, but it is certainly superior to the finished script. Malcolm is far more likeable than he was in the movie and the ending is beyond perfect. It would be the perfect ending for the third film, I think. Maybe Spielberg was saving the Pteranodon/ Hammond's death ending for the third film once he changed it to the San Diego part. In any case, the ending for this draft is just incredible. Tim and Lex at the funeral, talking to Malcolm in the snow, and Malcolm's voice-over (which is lifted directly from Thorne's dialogue at the end of the LW book) as we go over the island at the end... too cool to believe they didn't stick closer to this. There were more dinosaurs and FX shots in this version as well, which leads me to believe Spielberg kind of short-changed the movie because he wanted to save money and time. Which will all hopefully be redeemed in the third film. Hammond's death is the perfect ending if this is to be a trilogy, and it would be great if Malcolm, Grant, Ellie, Tim, Lex, and even Kelly were all there for it... the perfect, perfect, perfect, perfect, perfect way to end this saga... and then, to not conclude on a somber note, have some voice-over at the end as we go over Site B (or C) and Isla Nublar, maybe of things Hammond said while he was alive... I pray this happens, and hey, it worked before with TLW, I mean, they put in stuff they couldn't put into the first film there too.
