The difference in numbers lies in when the overseas distributors announce their box office numbers. UIP (JPIII distributor) announces the numbers every 4 days, and Fox/Pathe (Planet) does so every week. So if you look at the worldwide box office at a certain date, one of the movies may have a slight advantage. For instance if JP3 is ranked higher than POTA, this is because Fox hasn't updated their box office numbers yet. So the world wide boxoffice should always be taken as an average.
