At first a Triceratops was to be used as the dinosaur hatching in JP, though Spielberg wisely opted for a Raptor hatchling instead. (From: 'Oviraptor')

I'm pretty sure that all these scenes were filmed! The original report was that the first screening (not a public one) was 142 minutes long without editing. That's a long movie so they had to edit it.

They shoulda had raptors attack them like in the book. That should of been how Eddie died.

Actually the press release info for the Jurassic Park DVD as well as all the available information from sites like Amazon.com list nothing of the sort regarding "deleted scenes". The Lost World will certainly have them, but not Jurassic Park. There is very little they can put back into Jurassic Park. And I wouldn't exactly consider Ellie picking a leaf off a tree to be "scene." In that SCENE, which is on the way to the Brachiosaurs, you can actually hear a slight jump in the soundtrack, it's right before the drums explode. It's a pretty obvious one. The Lost World will have some doozies, but I don't think the Rex attack on the High Hide will be one of them. In fact I don't think they ever even filmed that scene.

Oh and where can I get TLW script, Movieboy3??? I wanna see all the scenes that were cut.

I uhhhh don't remember those scenes being shown in the cinema. I'm pretty sure they were cut completely from the film. I don't remember a scene where Tim threw up! I also live in Australia BTW ^_^. Oh and I'm not sure if the US version had it, but on the Australian 'The Lost World' video, there is the official JP trailer. It includes the scene with Ellie and the leaf. Oh and mind you, we got The Lost World TAPE 1 year after America, and are yet to get the widescreen, but I'm saving up for a DVD player and I can access Widescreen for both movies and normal! Oh yeah, the deleted scenes are only included in TLW DVD, coz there are soooooo many! JP only had a few.

I hope they have some new animals like the Allosaurus, or the Herrerasaurus,(since I can't think of any animals, besides the Procomsognathus that was in JP that was in the Triassic). Or maybe the Hypsilophodon(like in the book), or the Ceratosaurus. I just want them to have some new dinosaurs.

When JP came out here in Australia there was two scenes in it that were cut when it came out on video. One was when Ellie grabbed the leaf that was extinct and the other was when Tim found the stones that the triceratops ate and then threw up. I remembered those scenes and was really dissapointed when it came out on video. Also the movie cards that came out showed that scene. HEre in Australia we didnt get Lost World cards so i didnt know the cut scenes till i read the script. Also the scene where the little girl gets attacked at the beginning fades into Malcolm yawing at the train station. This was supposed to be a man yawing at the ingen meeting. Just thought you might wanna know.

At 3:01:34 AM on 7/11/2000, Embryo said:
Uh guys, there were *more* than a *dozen* scenes cut from The Lost World! I'll try and list as many as I can, but they may not be 100% accurate:

    1) The InGen board meeting where they talk about the attack on Cathy and vote Hammond off Head of InGen. This is placed right after the scene with Malcolm in the train.

    2) The scene in which we meet Roland and Ajay, where after a man harasses a waitress, Roland gets into a fight. I am pretty sure this is meant to be after Hammond talks to Malcolm.

    3) When Eddie goes to rescue Sarah, Ian and Nick Kelly waits in the high hide. But after the rexes notice the hide they attack Kelly. Can't wait to see this one ^_^

    4) After the vehicles are uploaded off the ship, we see Nick Eddie and Malcolm set up base camp (find it anyway ^_^) and Nick says: "So do we rescue her now, or after lunch?".

    5) After they rescue Sarah, we see some kind of scene where Sarah talks about the extinct plants found on the island, and how the animals don't like them.

    6) Before Sarah takes pics of the baby Stego, some dinosaur (???) chases the 3 guys and Sarah. There is a picture of this scene at the official site. You have probably all seen it. You can also hear the music on the soundtrack.

    7) There was an extended scene involving the raptors attacking hunters. It shows Ajay being attacked.

    8) The scene in which a drunk Ludlow steps into the rex nest and brakes the babies leg.

    9) A scene was shot involving Benjamin and the T-Rex. It actually smashed into his bedroom.

    10) A scene after the raptors vs Ian involving Ludlow talking to some people about "If people has the chance to see one dinosaur, and only one, 99% would choose the Tyrannosaur. That's something to build a theme park around".

I don't know many more... and I can't think of them right now. But there were also scenes in JP which were cut. In the trailer we see Ellie get a leaf of some bush, on their way to the VC. She discovers the plant is actually extinct. This is what she is talking about when they all have lunch.

actually the scene with Roland and Ajay in Kenya was pretty funny.. it shoulda been in the theatre movie.

At 3:12:04 PM on 7/10/2000, Oviraptor said:
The cut scenes in TLW .. which are 2 scenes.. is a InGen board meeting scene.. with Ludlow.. talking about the distruction of Nublar and everything.. and him taking Hammond's place as CEO.. and there's also a scene of Roland and Ajay at a bar in Kenya .. Roland gets in a fight and Ajay is there too tell Roland about going too Isla Sorna... too see if he wants to go. it's basically just stuff that doesn't matter.

At 3:11:15 PM on 7/10/2000, Ian said:
Where ingen had that meeting talking about the girl was atacked by the group of _Compsognathus_. Maybe you were getting a beer when the scenes were playin ;), also the one with Roland played, right?

Yeah it does Ian but I still wanna know.. at least if it's a prequel or sequel.. that wouldn't give away the plot.

Does anyone here read the news sectionother then me? Here lemem quote some things
from the news section for yall

___"The article is an interview with Luis Jimenez, a Costa Rican working as an advisor on JP3. According to him the script has the dinosaurs showing up and wreaking havoc on the Costa Rican mainland. He maintained that the script is constantly going through many changes. His job is to get them photo documentation of the airport, one of our biggest hopitals, the morgue, police uniforms, ambulances, police cars, churches, etc. and other stuff on Costa Rica... He says that probably only second unit stuff would be done on location.
He mentions that principal photography starts in mid june in Hawaii and the scenes that take place on the Costa Rican mainland on August 14. A small city would be built on Universal Studios. On the first movie the only scene showing our capital city was when “Newman” was selling the embryos..." ___

___"Yes, it is a prequel to "The Lost World".
It will be largely based on "The Lost World" novel with many new ideas, most of which Steven Spielberg has thought of.
The story will have loads of information about "DX".
Nobody has been cast yet, although Universal are desperate to get Neill, Dern and Goldblum back for at least small roles. Hammond plays a significant part in the movie, while his daughter and Ludlow also appear.
Universal are thinking of names for a rival genetics company, although this company is not highly important to the film.
The first island is featured [as well as] Site B.
A set for a huge factory/lab is being constructed. This is not supposed to be on site B."

lol lets take some input form acuall reports when we try and figure what the movie is gonna be about ;) Just suggestion

Yeah Isla Nublar was destroyed but when was it destroyed ... it doesn't say that in the cut scene.. might have been a year or 2 after them accident in the Park.. something coulda happaned before that.. and Ludlow just didn't talk about it or didn't know about it.. he also talked about the 3 deaths on Isla Nublar , Muldoon,Ray,and Gennaro.. and thier families sued InGen... but thats because they worked for the company...if people get stranded on JP .. InGen can't be sued cause it's not thier faught.. if people got killed then since it wasn't an amusement park anymore.. and who says any of the good guys get killed maybe Dodgson and his team are there and they all get killed.. thier families couldn't sue for it. Also did they destroy the dinosaurs in TLW... No they didn't so maybe at first Hammond didn't want the ones in JP destroyed.. it would be up too him since he was still CEO of InGen then. We just know it happened sometime before TLW... but we don't know when. I'm not sure why he chose too destroy the ones in JP. I mean at the end of JP did it look like he was in such a big hurry too destroy them. It looked like he was crying in the helicopter at the end, and remember when Robert brought up the lysine thing.. Hammond said thats absolutely out of the question, meaning he didn't want the dinosaurs harmed in any way. But I dunno I guess it's just my wishful thinking that.. they go back too Isla Nublar before it's destroyed.. but you never know when they actually destroyed it since thats not told in TLW... also since that scene was cut.

*remembers a movie line called <i>Carnosaur</i>. Well the only good thing about 4 authors is that when the movie plot comes out all crapy, the authors can all blaim the other one ;p

The only thing is, Crichton may not have contributed to the plot like he was initially supposed to. Spielberg came up with the plot, but there have been at least 4 writers attached to this project, so we'll see just how great the plot is.

AFF! I agree! It would LOVE to have it just like the book, also a Jurassic Park even exactly like the book.

Its cause the DVD is gonna be containing "cut scenes". And their were some scenes cut from the movie that i remember not seeing when i went to see the movie the first time, that i read about on Dans site. WELL a while later it was out on FOX channel and it did have the cut scenes but i missed the showing of it.

At 12:30:54 PM on 7/10/2000, Digalot said:
with all the writers on this story you think they would come up with a better story then that. thats why i dont think it is true, micheal C. is such a good writer and so is steven s. so i doupt they would come out with a story that reeks like that :(

I think the plot is pretty sucky if you ask me I wont the story to be about dr. levine and have the same basic plot of lost world the book not gilligans island meets jp dinos oh and grant just happens to be on the 3 hour tour

Yeah, they do that alot. It would be cool on Isla Nublar but it was destroyed. They have the cut scene on DVD and it was on FOX (which i misshed Darn!)

Well maby they screwed up there source and underwater dino is really the dino on the new sign (no mater what it is-spino,sucho,bary) they all lived near water as they all ate fish as well as other dinos.
So they could just have there facts wrong.

yeah it'll ROCK just because Grant is back!!!

Well as long as Neill and Dern are in it, this movie will rock! Even if Dern has only a small cameo, atleast bigger than Lex and Tim in TLW.

Thats true Ian but I still hope they mean Isla Nublar!!!

At 2:40:12 AM on 7/10/2000, Ian said:
LoL. Well they might mean Isla Sorna. You know how these movie sorces are with their data. They easily screw things up and get everything backwards ;). And as a new underwater "Dinosaur". I hope this doesnt mean they are creating an entierly new dinosaur that lives underwater. That would just be silly. What i am hoping is that it might be some sort of plesiosaur or mososaur, which in them selves arnt Dinosaurs and are more related to accuall honest to god lizzards then to Dinosaurs or Crocodiles or any other Archosaur ;). But we all know how the movie people love to use odd ball terminology and screw around with what they hear cause they dont understand half of it.

lol! I had a ream about Hippos a while back. Hippos and Rhinos ;) I was chased by a Hippo at first and then later chased by a Rhinoceros while a bunch of weird people were chearing as I woould make so very very close calls of almostbeing hit by the beast. Lol i woke up almost screaming ;)!

At 12:47:06 AM on 7/10/2000, Oviraptor said:
Mmm Jurassic Park island do they mean Isla Nublar.. sounds like it too me.. WOOHOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

    At 11:52:18 PM on 7/9/2000, North2000 said:
You know they mentioned ''Dinosaur'' but people rarely mention the fact this movie cost more than JP and TLW combined and made less money at the box office than both movies. Also I read that someone who worked on JP stopped working for ''Dinosaur'' because he didn't like the talking and lips of the dinosaurs. The movie looks good visually, but it didn't make me want to go out and see it, I'll rent it.
I hope Laura signs on I really liked her in JP. I'm glad Stan Winston is confirmed for JP3 he brings alot ofthe life into the JP movies, he deserves alot of credit. The only good thing about Congo was Stan Winston's creations, he was even able to make a hippo look vicious. He ruined my vision of the dancing hippos from Fantasia. :)
