Michael Crichton's original idea for Jurassic Park was a story about a college student who created a single dinosaur from fossil remains. After finding that unsatisfactory, he put it aside before coming up with the theme park idea. (From: SeanArcher)

The best film of 2016 thus far. Subtle, unconvetnional, chilling.

    Discu*cough*ss.

It was fantastic. The ending is just so fucking good.

I think the only new movies I've seen this year so far are this, and The Lobster. Both are amazing. So 2016 is off to a good start for me

    It wasn't scary at all.

not a bad movie, not poorly made, but when stephen king says he was terrified I expect to leave a movie unable to sleep without a vallium. Instead I came out relaxed and ready to sleep feeling comfortable and calm. The opposite of how I wanted to feel.

Excellent film, my favorite witch movie after Day of Wrath. It isn't so much a horror movie as it is a drama about people living in a horror movie, as these 17th Century Puritans thought their lives were constantly beset by witches, demons, spirits, and the like. The actual witch stuff is less interesting than how the other members of the family respond to the possibility of a witch, and, like The Thing, it knows how to keep the audience in a state of existential paranoia.

Best film of 2016. A drama about people living inside a horror movie is the perfect way to put it. Might be better than anything I've seen out of 2017 besides Blade Runner 2049 and The Disaster Artist.
