Stan Winston begged Spielberg to cut down on the water in TLW, as the many rain scenes in JP proved to weigh down the animatronics, causing them to shake. (From: 'dinosaur_neill')

    "Three New Films"
On 2/11/2014 at 11:27:47 AM, dieterstark started the thread:
We all know this new Jurassic World is the start of a brand new Jurassic World (Park) trilogy. A new trilogy according to Trevorrow.

What do you think about this?

I think by the end of the first JW we will see some dinosaurs escape the island (like the raptors on the boat in the first novel). In the second film in the new Jurassic World franchise I believe it will be regarding the influx of the dinosaurs onto the mainland and generally causing destruction and havoc to mankind. The second movie will end with mankind looking extinction in the face while the dinosaur proliferate. Finally, in the third and last movie, the remaining humans will be living in scattered outposts and giant walled cities to protect whats left of our species from the now overwhelming dinosaur presence/invasion. We put up a good fight, but inevitably the dinosaurs which we brought back to life out of extinction will cause the literal extinction of mankind by the last reel of movie three.

How fitting. We are destroyed by the very creatures we created. And not just a skeleton crew on an island, but the entire world will be destroyed. The dinosaurs will once reign again, to the backdrop of a fallen human civilization; the buildings and remnants of which are being devoured by nature, forests, and jungles.

Johnston said that not Trevorrow, and that was before the script change.

There is no way dinosaurs could populate the world. It is a ridiculous premise.

It is difficult to make a trilogy now that they have started back at square one. Who would return for a second, and third? Without Alan Grant and the others, it's hard to believe that these park enthusiasts would bother endangering themselves again, when at least with our beloved paleontologist and paleo-botanist, it is their scientific field and even though they know the danger, the allure of knowledge always brings them back.

So, unless Malcolm gets a new woman who is trapped on the island, I don't see a new trilogy happening.

I don't see there being a trilogy either. But I would love to see 2 movies closely based on the two books. However as everyone involved has stated it is not a reboot I have to assume that they will not be basing it on the books.
