Rumor Alert: According to Kevin, he's heard a rumor that JP3 will be based on a screenplay by Koepp and two other, yet-unknown writers. However, this is still a rumor.

The JP2 Band-Aids are now out in stores. According to Mulcyber, there are two designs: A black bandage with Site B and the logo all over it, and fleshy colored bandage with Raptors, T.Rexes, and Pteranodons on it with a DNA strand in the background. On the back of the box it says "Dino Damage".

A few words about JP2's total gross: While The Lost World has already made more than double what it cost to make, there is no way that it will anywhere as successful as Jurassic Park. This week's latest drop proves that, and the new movies opening this week and the next week will force JP2 lower down on the chart. Right now, JP2 is estimated to have a total gross of $225 million, a far cry from the first movie's total, yet still a "blockbuster".

I've been meaning to mention that Gatsby's Page has a description of the Islands of Adventure preview center from his trip to Universal Studios Hollywood.

Talking about the Islands of Adventure, be sure to check out this page from digitalcity.com, which has some info and video clips about Universal's park. (One of the clips is of the new JP ride, although I haven't downloaded it yet) [Thanks to Jesse Anderson]

Daniel Oņate Pelaez sends word that the Spanish release date of "El Mundo Perdido" will be on August 22nd. And to add to that, "Il mondo perduto" will be released in Italy on August 29th. (thanks to Luca Bonacina)

Comic Relief: Check out Andy Rattinger's hilarious list of the "Top 10 Spinoffs from JP" over at The Lighter Side of JP2 (Click on "Lost World Top Ten Lists")

Correction: The "Fuel Depot" mentioned a few days ago is actually made by Matchbox, not Hot Wheels as was reported. (Thanks to MicRS)

According to USA Today, the long-awaited Sarah Harding action figure is set to be released this month. (I guess Kenner was delaying it to build the suspense). It comes with a camera and a Stego hatchling. (thanks to Baryonyx, the Merchandise man)

Here's a picture from the new Mercedes Commercial, which features the Mercedes M Class along with Mr. T-Rex. (thanks to Krunker418)

Anyone see David Letterman's Top Ten List last week? Here it is:

Video Game Spot has put together a very extensive preview of the upcoming JP2 game for the Sony Playstation with pictures as well as an interview with the development team.

Small Correction: The Lost World's total box office earnings is actually 171 million. Dan's LW Page regrets the error. (thanks to Raptor999)

I will now mention Trivia-Dj's JP2 related webpage, The Lighter Side of The Lost World: Jurassic Park, for it is quite cool. be sure to check out the hilarious "Not So Real News" page for the inside-scoop on the NUDE SCENE that was cut from JP2. (And if that doesn't get him hits, nothing will) : )

The Lost World moved down a spot in the box office results this week, being pushed out of the way by the action-flick "Con-Air". However, JP2 still took in a hefty $18.5 million, which is excellent considering it's the movie's third week. (thanks to Elhiu Dominguez) This figure brings the estimated box office gross up to $158.5 million.

Okay, here's some very interesting info about JP3, from the British film magazine, "Total Film":

The article goes on to suggest that Elizabeth Shue might be a high contender for the female lead with Ian Malcolm character still surviving. Note: At the moment, this tid-bit should be taken as a rumor, and nothing more. (thanks to Al)

I added some new pictures to the Media Gallery, specifically to the Cast List section. I also added a review from from Mr. Cranky Rates the Movies. (thanks to Andy)

A commercial for the JP2 Remote Controlled Car (Mercedes M-Class) has been spotted, which is described by the vociferous announcer as, (and I quote) "Rip-Roaring, Dinosauring!!". Also mentioned were the "Don't tread on me" tires and the "Spitter dinosaur" on the back, which "shoots water up to 20 feet". (thanks to Chris Baker)

Two more toy commercial were spotted by Joshua Fitch, for the Hot Wheels Fuel Depot and the JP2 Board Game.

The TYCO JP2 View-Master (I can't believe they still make those things) is now out, according to Dan Worthington. One of the 3-D pictures shows Ludlow, who is drunk, laying on the Baby T-rex. (this scene was cut from the movie)

According to Chris Maier, if you look quickly during the Dino-rescue scene, with Nick and Sarah, you'll spot the baby triceratops that was built but never used for the first JP movie.

I added another clip from the JP2 soundtrack to the Audio section, as well as Roger Ebert's scathing JP2 review to the Reviews section.

According to Matt Boudreu, Michael Crichton's next novel is about life on Mars. The novel is finished, and he is now waiting for it to be published.

Look for the car that appeared in the movie, the Mercedes M-Class, along with a T-Rex in a new commercial for Mercedes which is now airing. (thanks to Larry)

For a dog's perspective on The Lost World, be sure to check out theLA Times' very comical Hunter column. (And look whose site is linked!)

Here's a few new websites for you to peruse: Check out Compy's Jurassic World (with a cool JP trivia game), and This page, full of high-quality .WAV files from TLW.

Check this out: The Credits to The Lost World, courtesy of "The Making of the Lost World" book. (for those who are wondering, no, I did not type this all in, I used the OCR [Optical Character Recognition] feature of the scanner at school to turn the page into text).

I scanned in some of the pictures from the Topps Souvenir Magazine that picture two scenes that never made it into the movie. Take a good look at these, because this might be the only chance you'll get to see them:

This is the scene that David Koepp was disappointed to see go. Supposedly it's a meeting between Roland Tembo and Ajay Sidhu, which sets up the fact that the two are friends. I guess it was cut for the sole reason of running time, but I would have liked to see it in just because Ajay has almost no lines in the film at all.

This scene was probably unnecessary, which was probably why it was cut. It's where Sarah realizes that she made a big boo-boo by brining her jacket (which had the baby Rex's blood on it) into the camp.

Another scene that the Topps Magazine mentions but does not appear in the film explains how the Baby T-Rex's leg gets broken: Supposedly as Roland is walking into the nest trying to get the baby, none other than Peter Ludlow stumbles into the nest, breaking the baby's leg in the process.

Okay kids, stop using that old Nintendo Gameboy of yours as a doorstop, because according to Videogamespot.com, (sent to me by Max Szoc), "TH*Q will be making a game for the ancient video game platform!

Lost World Tidbit: Get this.. For the "Tall Grass Scene", Michael Lanteri's effects crew were responsible for planting and growing 8 acres of "elephant grass". The project was started a year in advance to make sure that the grass would be at sufficient height for the scene. (from The Making of the Lost World)

Vanessa Lee Chester is making the talk show rounds tomorrow, appearing on Fox After Breakfast at 9am, and then The Rosie O'Donnell Show at 10am (EDT). (thanks to Andrew J. Husband)
