Well, today's the limited release, and I know at least some of you lucky people are seeing it right now. Don't forget, if you see it tonight, don't forget to send me your review, along with a rating of 1 to 4 stars.

Don't forget about tomorrow's upcoming events: Goldblum on the Today Show and Rosie O' Donnell, the "Lost World Special" on E!, and Goldblum and Moore's live chat. Click here for more info.

The Joseph Mazello Fan Page has an interview with Mr. Mazello himself ("Tim" from JP). It does indeed confirm that he and Lex (Ariana Richards) will be in The Lost World although only with a bit part, during the scene where Ian Malcolm visits John Hammond. (thanks to "tzm")

Here's one from the Controversy department: Several environmental groups are gearing up for a good old fashioned boycott of none other than The Lost World in Los Angeles this weekend. Their reason? Supposedly a new Dreamworks studio is being proposed to be built smack-dab in the middle of some coveted wetlands. (thanks to "Lazarus")

See something weird in the picture of the T-rex rampaging down the street (see yesterday's update)? Patrick Lynch let me know that if you look carefully at the sign on the right side of the street, you'll see an interesting message: "No Dinosaurs, Skating, Skateboarding"

A new batch of JP2 commercials have been spotted by Ryan, Grendel205, Barns, Russ Parker, and Kevin Williams (among others) . Here are some descriptions of the new scenes:

The electronic Parasaurolophus, Electronic Velociraptor, Stegosaurus, Giant Pachycephalosaurus, Thrasher T-Rex, and Electronic Bull T-Rex are now out in stores, according to Krunker418.

Blockbuster is selling other JP2 merchendise, including these huge hand-puppets (T-Rex and Raptor) that cover your entire hand and growl when you push a button inside, as well as several posters (I didn't see these at my Blockbuster, but you may have better luck) - the "You are what we eat" poster (mentioned before), one with all the dinosaurs of JP2, one with a huge T-Rex head, and one with the T-Rex's feeding. (you can buy the posters online here. (Thanks to Eugene D. O'Rourke and ShadowEye)

On the subject of merchendise, a few new TLW t-shirts have been spotted, including one with the Jp2 logo, another with a T-rex bursting through the logo, and one with A sketch of T-rex with Something Has Surived under it. (thanks to Babi30930)

Kyle sent along some more pictures from the Official Topps Souvenir Magazine, I've added them to their appropriate page.

From MovieWeb, some info on TLW's PG-13 rating: (thanks to Babi30930):

Here's a picture of the Lost World Soundtrack "Dinorama". I dunno....I would have rather had liner notes and a real jewl case instead of this. But that's just my opinion: (thanks to LordCaff)

Oh, and if anyone's wondering (I was) there's nothing behind the sticker that has the track list printed on it on the back of the CD package. (Chaotic Rex took it off)

This LA Times article entitled "Monstrous Expectations" asks "Even if 'The Lost World' eats up the competition, will it live up to the pre-release hype?". Excerpts: (thanks to Trevor)

The JP2 Soundtrack is out! I just got a copy myself, and have to say that the music is very good so far (i'm listening to it right now). I recommend Track #7, "Rescuing Sarah". Here's a clip from Track #5, "The Trek": Streaming .RA

I got some "inside" reports from last night's premier of the movie at the Cineplex Odeon Universal City Cinemas. The first person, who works at Stan Winston studios, said "On the whole, it was ok...The dialogue gets a little hokey, but.. so what!...The fx are flawless...". The second report, from someone who works at Dreamworks, was a bit more positive: "It rocked. 4 starts. You will absolutely love it! Better than the first. The raptors will scare the crap out of you."

Movie Fone has started their promotion, where you can win a trip for 2 to "the ancient island of Hawaii". All you have to do is buy your tickets using the movie fone system (in most cities, the number is 777-FILM). (thanks to Compy07)

Chris let me know that there will be a one-hour special on "The Lost World" this Thursday night, at 8pm EDT, on E! Entertainment Television. The Calendar has been updated accordingly.

This week's issue of Newsweek has a so-so review of TLW, along with the following very cool picture: (thanks to Blake Cooper:

The review has been added to the brand-spankin'-new reviews page.

A side bar to the Newsweek review, called "A Visit To Dino Island contains some interesting info. Excerpts:

The new Reviews Section is now up, and I've added a one from the "Hollywood Reporter", thanks to MPreston88 and another very harsh one from the rec.arts.movies newsgroup. If you spot a review from an "official source", please mail it to me!

More info on the JP2 Hand-held LCD games from Christopher Baker. The "Raptor Run" game has a special "radar" which tells you when and when not to shoot. The "Final Fight" game has Pteranodons trying to knock you out of the sky.

Look for the JP2 Matchbox Merchandise in stores now, according to Russell Raymond. There are cars, trucks, and two playsets.

The release date of JP2 in Taiwan is June 21st. (thanks to Jeff Stelle)

Chris digitized some clips from this weekend's edition of Access Hollywood. (check out yesterday's news to hear a 10 minute audio clip from the segments):

[ Long Steogsaurus Scene - 6mb ]
[ Trailer Scene #1 - 2mb ]
[ Trailer Scene #2 - 2mb ]

Apollo made a 2 minute "high-light" video from the same Access Hollywood clip. You can download that (16.8mb), here!

Daily Variety just released their review of The Lost World -- you can read it online, here. The reviewer seems to like it, although he does say "the film moves at a breathless clip that almost makes one forget the thinness of the plot" (thanks to Trevor)

Both E! News Daily and CNN's Showbiz Today are both scheduled to have segments on JP2 today. (thanks to Chris Baker). For other scheduled JP2 events on TV/online, check out the Event Calender

The Lost World Soundtrack comes out tomorrow across the country!

Check out your local Blockbuster Video for some cool JP2 merchandise. They've got huge T-Rex and Raptor hand-puppets, which can growl, t-shirts, bookbags, keychains, and those "gurgling egg" things mentioned awhile back. (thanks to ShadowEye and Kyle)

Many of the Lost World Books are now shipping, including the "TLW Roleplaying book". You can order discount books online in the shop!

Bean says he found a cool new LW poster, which has two raptors in the jungle and the phrase "You are what I eat".

A couple of people e-mailed me to say that Burger King is now airing commercials about the new JP2 Watch promotion. You can get them for a measly $1.99 with a purchase of any "combo meal".

At the Timberland clothing store in Dallas, Texas, you can actually buy some of the clothes used in the movie (new of course). Don't forget about the Timberland and Mercedes contest that is going on--the winner gets a "9 day LW adventure". (thanks to Douglass Boehner)

Universal, taking advantage of the new popularity of Jurassic Park thanks to The Lost World, is re-releasing the VHS version of Jurassic Park, in letterbox with new THX mastering. What's more, it has a new low-price, only $6.99! (thanks to Gard)

{sigh} Oh well, only 4 days left : )

Last Week's Poll Results: Last week's poll was stupid. I admit it. I asked "How many times have you seen JP?" About 30% of those who answered said that they'd seen it "80+ times", while around 18% said they'd seen it "18-30" times. Only one person said they never saw it (althought that seems a little hard to believe), and only 21 people have seen it less than four times.

This week's Poll: "What was the coolest scene in Jurassic Park. Thanks to Velociraptor and Mike for the suggestion. Vote here.

Whoops! The link to the summary of Gremlin's JP2 movie description was wrong. If you really want to know it, check out yesterday's news.

Access Hollywood had a large three-part segment on TLW yesterday during their weekend edition. I, being the award-winning page maintainer that I am, taped it, and made a .RA file for your listening pleasure: There are three parts. Part one has interviews with Goldblum, Vaughn, and Moore. Part two has an interview with Stan Winston, and Part three has another interview with Goldblum, where they show two new clips. If you want to skip to the next part when listening, hit PageDown.

[ 10 Minute (approx) Clip ]

Chris digitized the new clip played during Friday's interview of Goldblum on David Letterman. It's basically a longer extended version of the "Stegosaurus Scene":

[ Large Version ]
[ Small Version ]

"RamNic" reports that the Official Topps Souvenir Magazine (mentioned yesterday with pics), costs $3.95, and contains more than "120 color pictures, behind the scenes info, and the complete movie story". This is a must have piece of JP2 memorabilia.

Before you go out to your local Blockbuster to try and get the JP2 soundtrack (mentioned yesterday), you might want to call in advance. It looks like it's only available in some stores. The rest of us are going to have to wait until Tuesday.

New Merchandise spotted:

According to Chris Baker, Monday's edition of E! News Daily will have a "big story on JP2".

There are many radio promotions going on across the country which are giving away free tickets to see TLW. In New York, Ramon Valera reports that you can win tickets to see TLW at the world-famous Ziefield Theater in Manhattan from Hot 97.

Talking about promotions, Andrew found another JP2 contest---this time on Colgate Toothpaste, where you can win a trip to London. This is a most likely an "Australia-Only" contest.

By the way, if you happened to watch the Nascar race yesterday at the Charlotte Motor Speedway, you would have seen Jeff Gorden win the race, in his new "JP2" car! Could this be foreshadowing how JP2 will do in the theater?

Check out Gremlin's LW plot description if you want to read a blow-by-blow description of JP2. Warning! Major spolier warning. According to Gremlin, this info was gathered from the Junior Novelization and other "official sources". However, if you want to be "surprised", do not read it! (I didn't)

Want an awesome Windows background? Check out this one, by Jorge.
