If you happen to be driving on Sunset Blvd. in Hollywood anytime soon, look for a huge JP2 ad on a building---on one side is the logo, and on the other is a T-Rex bursting through said logo. (thanks to Nicholas Nething)
Brandon Shaw sends along some more info on the "Tropicana Lost World Contest" mentioned awhile back... If you open the container and get water instead of orange juice, don't be pissed off---You Won!
A JP2 Kite has been spotted, with a picture of a Pterandon on it. It retails for $2.99. (thanks to James Nicholson)
Barns says that Spielberg actaully wasn't on NBC's Today show this morning. (I forgot to tape it). The only thing I can think of is that maybe he was pushed forward to tomorrow.
Oh, a small correction about the "Giga Pet's" I mentioned a few days back. The hit toys in Japan were actually manufactured by Bandai, and Bandai will be selling the American version. Tiger Electronic's "Giga Pet's" are just based off of the original. (thanks to Jen Tantzen)
I got a new "count-down" java-script thingie on the main page, coutersy of my friend Sean's webpage. It's groovy...when the movie comes out, there will be a box where you can enter your zip code and it will tell you what theaters it is playing at near you.

As always, a very special thanks to Chris (pic thanks to Krunker418)
Just to remind everyone, Steven Spielberg will be on NBC's Today Show, tomorrow.
Here's a pic from this month's Nickelodeon Magazine, which has an interview with Vanessa Lee Chester and Jeff Goldblum (look at last week's "What's New" for some excerpts from the interview) (thanks to Tyler Brown)
Believe it or not, some theaters are selling JP2 tickets already! The AMC Grand in Dallas, Texas is hosting the Limited Release on May 22nd. If you live around there, I suggest you hurry up -- Dan Worthington bought a ticket for every showing that day!
Okay, here's something really cool: Forget 3-D week on NBC -- Check out 3d-Web.com and their 3-D JP2 Pictures! All you need is a pair of 3-D glasses (the red/blue kind) (thanks to Jason Cross)
Chris Jayawardena reports that the new Fangoria Magazine is out, which has an interview with David Koepp and Jeff Goldblum.
Here's a picture of some of the actual sets used in the filming of JP2, which are now part of the Universal Studio's Hollywood's "Backlot Tour". Thanks to Steve Haughton
The first in the series of Topps JP2 comic books should be out on Wednesday! (thanks to Kyle Cummings)
The merchandise keeps rollin' in:
And for your viewing enjoyment, Blake Cooper sent along a JP2 picture from this week's Newsweek:
The June issue of Premier Magazine has reportedly come out in some stores, which has a brief article about the movie. In it, it's reported that the "Rex is tranquilized, brought to San Diego, escapes, and storms after Malcolm because he has her baby in the backseat of his car." (thanks to Wiserman)
Here's some excepts from the article about JP2 from this month's issue of Tuff Stuff's Collect: (thanks to Suz)
Gerani says that Universal Studios, which owns both Jurassic Park and The Lost World, has been extremely sensitive to Topps' needs, and has provided a more than adequate supply of photographs from the new film to Topps' trading card editors.
Plus, unlike the company's Jurassic Park issue, The Lost World cards will include several computer generated effects images. "We couldn't get any CGI on Jurassic Park, Gerani says, "only the Stan Winston live-action designs. But this time we have at least of couple of the CGI shots". "The great thing about both these films is that they combine the computer generated stuff with Winstons full-sized dinosaurs, and those can be photographed on the sets." This means The Lost World cards also boast scenes from a special shoot of Winston's dinosaurs grouped together with what Gerani calls "very enthusiastic poses, like the dinosaurs you might see at the Museum of Natural History."
The 72 card set scheduled for release to coincide with The Lost World's Memorial Day debut will also include a set of story line cards detailing the plot of the film and featuring a number of dinosaur action sequences. These cards will be followed by the "diorama" shots in a subset called the Dino-Rama showcase, which will offer greater photographic detail of many of the dinosaurs than has ever been seen before. Next comes a series of behind the scenes shots, detailing the construction of props and dinosaurs, as well as the complex setups required for the action sequences. A couple of production paintings are also part of this subset. The series will conclude with a number of Dinosaur Gallery cards, which include scientific background on each species seen in the new film.
Look for six-card hobby shop packs, priced at 99 cents each, in late May.
Small correction about the "Gurglin' Dino Eggs" mentioned yesterday--they are not candy, but actually a ball which you can squeeze to make a sick, "gurglin'" sound. (the kids will love 'em)
Let me take this opportunity to thank everyone for bearing with me and my ISP (net @ccess) during these past two days---everything should be back to normal now, and should stay that way.
Oh by the way, if you get "Yahoo! Internet Life", turn to page 14 of the June issue and look in the "Lost in the translation" section. They're searching for "The Lost World: Jurassic Park"!! Maybe my page (thanks to "tzm")
The new paper-back Lost World book has been spotted by Chris Baker, which has a holographic logo, with the T-Rex smashing through the LW logo (similar to the holographic 3-D poster for the movie)
I mentioned the "Giga Pets" yesterday-- here's their Official Webpage (thanks to Matt)
Erick Robinson reports that Sealtest will have a JP2 promotional tie-in and contest with their "Popsicle Pete" line of er...popsicles. The popsicles will have dino footprints on them, which you can send in for prizes.
A few people are predicting that a LW trailer will be on during NBC's airing of "Invasion" tonight, so tune in if you haven't seen it yet.
For the record, there was a short segment on JP2 during this weekend's Entertainment Tonight, although there wasn't any new scenes or news, etc. They did show a shot of the Universal Hollywood "Jurassic Park" Store, which looks to have a LOT of JP2 products. The one I remember distinctly is a Lost World "Quiz Wiz" trivia game about dinosaurs.
Well, the Corona Coming Attraction's Page has been updated, which just confirms some things we already know... They do say that Tim and Lex will reportedly make an appearance at the end of the film (and not the beginning). They also claim to have "read the script" and report that there is "no dino attack in downtown San Diego", and think that the whole sequence is just "Ian Malcolm['s] nightmare". Uh...is it just me, but if they read the script, shouldn't they know if it's his nightmare or not? (thanks to Jason Bennett)
Even more info from this month's issue of Sci-Fi Magazine, courtesy of Joshua Fitch:
"I sneak into the backs of movie theaters sometimes, and it's really fun to go the first couple of weeks and see the people screaming their heads off. I know they're hoping The Lost World will be popular and I'll bet it will be,without counting our chickens. I can imagine people will be pretty amazed at it."
On working with Stan Winston animatronic dinosaurs, Goldblum says, "Oh, wait until you see it- it's unbelievable. They've made leaps forward with that and they're sophisticated and unbelivable. They'll knock your eyes out, as will the Dennis Muren Industrial Light and Magic Stuff." Is it difficult to work with animatronic dinosaurs? "Not really. Stan has things so prepared that it's just amazing. Everything is just ready to go. We actors are saying. "Well, what are we doing today?" - a little bit shooting from the hip. But you can't do that with those guys. And everything has been like a shuttle mission:planned and prepared for, and they're just amazing."
Goldblum's final thoughts on The Lost World are simple: "I'm very excited about it. I think people are going to get a kick out of it."
Have you heard of that hit Japanese toy called "Tamagotch"? Supposedly they're so popular in Japan that they've been linked to juvenile violent crimes, and now these cute little LCD games are coming to America, courtesy of Tiger Electronics. Renamed "Giga Pets", "[they] need constant care to keep its circuits humming. Without virtual feeding, hugs, discipline, sleep and bathroom time, the little creature will sadly sprout wings and soar heavenward." What do these have to do with JP2? Well, the line now has six pets: Digital Doggie, Compu Kitty, Virtual Alien, Microchimp, Bit Critter and a Baby T-Rex (from JP2). The "Giga Pets" are scheduled to hit toy stores in major cities this week, with a retail price of $15.
Chris has made a smaller, 240x180 3.3 megabyte version of the 30 second JP2 Trailer, version 3. However, if you've got time, check out the 5.9mb version.
I saw an awesome (and hilarious) movie last night: Austin Powers, Baby!
Here's some info about JP2's special effects from this month's Sci-Fi Magazine, thanks to Joshua Fitch:
Look for the JP2 Finger and hand puppet in stores now, according to "Lazarus"
Doh! I managed to screw up my VCR last night, so I didn't get the interview with Jeff Goldblum last night on "Later". If anyone got it on tape and would care to make a .WAV or a .RA, it would be appreciated.
The main pages have been updated.
12fps 320x240 3.0mb Zipped .AVI

Extra-special thanks to both Chris and Apollo. :)
Lots of information about JP2 merchendise today, so I think I'll put it all into a nice bulleted list:
Kevin, a movie theater manager in Orlando, Florida, send along the information that on May 26th, three days before JP2 opens, Universal Studios Florida will open their "Lost World Backstage Pass", similar to Disney MGM's, 101 Dalmations Backstage Pass attraction.
Kevin also adds that each 3-D hologram poster is valued at $250, so it's going to be hard (and require a lot of dough) if you want to get your hands on one. Besides the price, you might want to think-twice before getting one, because it will require a special lighted poster case to get the desired 3-D effect. So I guess we're stuck just oogling it at the theater..
Whoops! Jeff Goldblum isn't scheduled to appear on David Letterman, as reported yesterday, but actually will be on Later with Greg Kinner tonight. "Later" usually airs after "Conan O'Brian", so check your local listings for time and channel (I always wanted to say that) [thanks to "Mxcuu"]
You can now order the Lost World: Jurassic Park Soundtrack online, from Cdnow.com. However, if I were you, I'd wait until May 20th, then just head out to your local Sam Goody's, or Record Town.
Talking about the LW Soundtrack, MCA Records today announced in a press-release that the JP2 soundtrack will come with a special 3-D package: (thanks to Larry)
Los Angeles returns to the land before time today, as MCA Recordserects a display of mammoth proportions atop Tower Records' SunsetBoulevard location. A reproduction of the 3-dimensional CD packagingfor MCA's upcoming May 20 release of the original John Williams scorefor The Lost World: Jurassic Park, the display features the dino-starsof the film, including a T-Rex and the dreaded velociraptors.
The score for The Lost World: Jurassic Park features originalcompositions by John Williams as well as a CD package that folds outinto a remarkable four-panel primordial jungle scene, featuring pop-upcut-outs of four different dinosaurs.
Says MCA Records Senior Vice President of Creative Services, JonasLivingston, inventor of the Lost World package, "It's more than a CDpackage -- it's an environment. The 3-D diorama is an invitation, notjust to play the music, but to play with the album itself. In an age ofvirtual realities and electronically enhanced releases, the Lost Worldpackage is a giant step backwards -- into an age of children's pop-upbooks, puppetry and a stage for the drama of the film and its score."
According to this month's issue of Sci-Fi Magazine, there will be a herd of Compys and Pachys in the JP2, as well as a new dinosaur called Mamenchisauruses (thanks to Joshua Fitch):
I just added three new pics to the Scrapbook/Posterbook Pictures page, thanks to Steve. Here's one:
Poll Results: Well, I am happy to report that Ian Malcolm blew away the competition in the "Favorite character in Jurassic Park" poll this week, with more than 40% of the vote. Surprisingly, Mr. Arnold came in second, and Robert Muldoon came in third, with 15% and 10% of the vote respectively. All I want to know is who are the six people who voted for Lex as their favorite character.?!?!.. "I like cows"??!! : )
This week, I will be conducting a age/sex poll, just so I can tell who is coming to my page. Since this really has nothing to do with JP2, I will try to change the poll early next week, but I really wanted to get this one done with. Vote here
Note to myself: Update the main pages tomorrow!!!!!
